The Block 2024 Clubhouse is the final piece of the puzzle and the last reveal for the competitors.
With a day spa, cinema, games room and more, this is the ultimate addition to the Block Island village and a chance for one team to win what could be the most important prize of the whole competition – $50,000 off their auction reserve price.
After Kylie and Brad left the show, Jimmy and Tam, arrived to help out and completed a full-on games room. As usual, I have all the images below, together with the judges' comments and mine.
The Blog 2024 Clubhouse
First Place: Kristian and Mimi 30 points
Into Kristian and Mimi’s cinema room and the judges loved the Walnut Kinsman cabinets, matching floorboards from Flooring Xtra and Dekton surfaces around a mini-kitchen area with E&S appliances including a state-of the art Unox Casa oven… but what was it all for? Through a secret hidden door, they found their answer – and loved what they found. “This is not normal!” Marty said as he took in the multi-level home cinema featuring a massive projector screen, Sonos surround sound, backlit arches, HomePro acoustic curtains (with matching ceiling panels), couches for every viewer and tables for snacks. Not just a room to win the week, Marty finished: “This is one of the best rooms I've seen, period.”
My thoughts on Kristian and Mimi's clubhouse
- Wow, what an amazing cinema room. I really love the cosiness of it and I love the colour brown. This is so underrated, but it gives you a dark, moody feeling without being as heavy as dark blue or black. The layers of cream, chocolate and rust are absolutely yummy.
- The detailing in the cabinetry is beautiful and I really love the wall lights. This is an amazing, small time, cinema experience.
- The foyer area for organising drinks and snacks has the hallmark traits of Kristian and Mimi, which have been so successful throughout the series.
- My only concern is that although the seating looks amazing, I think possibly that the backs need to be a little higher. They wouldn't look as good, but would probably be a little more comfy for watching long movies.

Second Place: Jimmy and Tam – standing in for Kylie and Brad 29 points (but not eligible to win)
With Kylie and Brad back in Cairns after leaving The Block, it was up to all-stars Jimmy and Tam to finish their Clubhouse games room and the judges were quick to point out that as usual, they were up to the task. With a huge TV for watching sports in front of a Freedom Aero couch, a pool table, games centre – including a SimWorx race simulator that features the Phillip Island track (among many others), and beautiful Kinsman cabinets with pop-up Haefele cocktail bar and Freedom Murphy stools, this was a grown-up playroom that would pull a crowd, they agreed. And the finishing touch? Hardie Groove wall panels that draw the eye up to the Channel Nine logo – a feature of every Block – made of Velux skylights in the ceiling. Chef’s kiss!
My thoughts on Jimmy and Tam's clubhouse
- This is certainly a great entertaining space that has a wow factor.
- I really like the gorgeous caramel colour on the ceiling which extends down the walls. This clever use of colour has ensured that the area is cosy and intimate.
- I love the rich mustard tones of the furniture and the feature wall and artworks. I'm not sure if the room is just a little too warm though. Perhaps just some complementary cool colour would be welcome in the space. Still, a great, fun entertainment area.
Equal Third Place: Courtney and Grant 28.5 points
“Oooh! Monolithic!” gushed Darren when he walked into Courtney and Grant’s beautiful day spa room. With Dekton rising out of the floor (including a heated slab of Sabbia Dekton that immediately caught his eye) this space was, he decided, “Serene!”. “Japandi meets Mediterranean!” said Shaynna as she took in the Clay and Co wall hanging, fruit bowl and shell hook, ice baths and Nood Co raw basin. And then Marty found not one, but two surprises from Steam Saunas Australia… “How the hell did they do this?” he asked, “These saunas are actually built in!”. Add in lockers and showers for pool users, a ”magic toilet” from Reece, Unitex rendering and travertine sconces and the result is a huge value add, he said.
My thoughts on Courtney and Grant's Clubhouse
- Well, who wouldn't like to spend a morning in here? It's gorgeous.
- The colour palette is soft and soothing, but I wouldn't mind seeing a little more greenery or some other light relief.
- The changing room is sublime. With the same Dekton and wall colour, the area comes alive with the tonal contrast of the lockers and the gorgeous natural runner.
Equal Third Place: Maddy and Charlotte 28.5 points
With an All-Stars walk of fame, huge Polito Donatello II pizza oven, sink, barbecue and indoor and outdoor dining options, the poolside dining retreat was a big hit with the judges, who loved the option for families to go out for a meal, but still stay at home. Darren loved the nautical feel: “Very coastal appropriate and I love it, love it, love it,” he said. Shaynna loved the wall sconces, sculptural pendants, custom furniture that fit perfectly and the Grafico mural, but then found the icing on the cake – a kids play area with sandpit and trampoline. Exceptional work and so well thought out, Marty said, the girls really hit the ball out of the park!
My thoughts on Maddy and Charlotte's Clubhouse
- I really love this poolside dining retreat. I think it's one of the nicest rooms that I have seen on The Block this season.
- The rich brown tones of the lining boards on the exterior work perfectly with the oak doors, which in themselves really create a fabulous wow factor.
- The outdoor dining setting is very appealing and being round, also very convivial.
- The outdoor kitchen is amazing.
- I also love the interior. The choice of wallpaper is pretty, the blinds are elegant, the flooring is stunning and I absolutely love the dining chairs.
Fifth Place: Ricky and Haydn 27.5 points
If the judges wanted a wow factor, they certainly found it in Ricky and Haydn’s outdoor poolside bar area. With 20 Velux skylights bringing the sun though an architectural ceiling featuring huge beams over Coco Republic outdoor furniture (including two huge dining tables) on Beaumont Travertine tiles, a Stoke Escea fireplace and huge Big Ass fans, this was the perfect place to sit while the family enjoys a swim, Marty said and was likely to be one of the most-used spaces in The Block. Even when the weather turns, Shaynna added, thanks to the HomePro zipscreen blinds! Just roll them down, turn up the Sonos speakers and “it’s all here!” Darren said.
My thoughts on Ricky and Haydn's Clubhouse
- This is a great outside pool area. The height of the ceiling is stunning, and I really like the timber posts and beams.
- I do feel though that the bricks in the fireplace are not quite right as they are just too busy. Set against a busy pattern in the floor tiles, I find it all a bit overwhelming.
- I'm not that keen on the black, timber and white approach to the furniture. I feel that the area is lacking in personality. A large space with soaring ceilings is stunning, but it needs lots of interest down below too.
